Ways to Give Back
This is a great way for Wilderness Therapy Alumni families to fundraise and help those who couldn’t otherwise afford wilderness therapy. As someone who understands the healing power of Wilderness Therapy, reaching out to your friends and family and asking them to help you “pay it forward” with your story can be very effective. Donations can be designated to any of our Partner Programs if you choose. You can easily set up your own fundraiser for STLF via Facebook and/or Instagram for your birthday or just because!

A great way to give back to STLF is to create a video testimonial about your experience (as a parent or as a wilderness alumni) Before & After wilderness therapy. These videos are used in our website and other marketing materials to offer encouragement to other families.
The videos are easy to create and can be done in the comfort of your own home and simply emailed to us at STLF. Please CLICK HERE for instructions.
Many companies and organizations have Matching Gifts programs. Does yours? If so, please indicate matching gift on the donation form above. Your gift can be doubled or tripled by your organization! Some organizations even provide matching funds for time volunteered.
Donating stocks or mutual funds is a convenient and wonderful way to make a gift. Please call our office at (408) 618-8093 to facilitate a transfer or CLICK HERE to download a stock donation form.
We can’t do this without YOU! Contribute to our mission with a Do It Yourself (DIY) Event or fundraiser that benefits STLF. This is an easy way to get people involved in STLF’s mission and to raise funds. Please review our DIY Event Policies and complete the DIY Event Application. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Here are a few ideas:
- Community % Give-Back Days at local grocery stores, retail stores, & restaurants
- Hold a “Parlor Event” in your home
- Host/ess Gift or Birthday Donation – in lieu of hostess or birthday gifts, ask for donations to STLF
- Movie Night: Hold a private viewing for Girl on the Edge: A powerful true story about the journey of a troubled teenage girl who finds healing in the most unlikely of places, and who must choose to either invest in her own recovery or succumb to the trauma of her past.
- Paint night with friends
- Participate in a local road race for STLF

Setting Up an In Memoriam Fund
“In memoriam” donations are a special way to honor or remember a loved one who’s passed, while transforming the life of a youth in crisis. In lieu of flowers, one time or recurring donations can be made on a custom or general webpage. STLF will send donors a personalized thank you letter and will notify the family of the donation. Funds donated may be restricted to a specific wilderness partner program or left unrestricted. Funds raised will be awarded to families in need on an on-going basis as part of the STLF’s wilderness therapy grant process.
Families often wish to mark a special occasion as a tribute to a loved one, for example on a birthday every year. STLF will support the family to best celebrate the life of the loved one.
For more information regarding setting up an “In Memoriam” Fund, please contact us at email@example.com or by phone at 408-618-8093.
