Reaching for the Stars - A virtual event
Our first-ever Virtual Reaching for the Stars was held on July 22nd and it featured an inspirational journey from our alumni speaker as well as our partner program, Aspiro Wilderness, and guest speaker, Krissy Pozatek.

Krissy Pozatek, MSW, is an author and parent coach. She has had over 15 years of experience in the wilderness therapy and adolescent treatment field. She graduated from Middlebury College with a joint undergraduate degree in environmental studies and geography and completed her graduate training in clinical social work, at both Smith College School for Social Work and at N.M. Highlands University. Krissy currently works as a parent coach with parents of struggling adolescents and young adults. Krissy also conducts parent workshops and speaks at schools and programs all over the country. She was a visiting professor at Middlebury College.
Krissy has identified the concepts and skills kids gain in the wilderness and integrated them into everyday parenting so kids can be more adaptable and resilient. She is the author of Brave Parenting: A Buddhist-Inspired Guide to Raising Emotionally Resilient Children (Wisdom Pub), The Parallel Process: Growing Alongside Your Adolescent or Young Adult Child in Treatment (Lantern Books) and Brave Teaching: Bringing Emotional-Resiliency Skills from the Wilderness to the Classroom.
