Cathy Cioth is a graduate from Loyola Marymount University and worked as a deposition court reporter, specializing in expert depositions for several years. She has been incredibly involved with her local community and the wilderness therapy program her children attended. Cathy served on Holy Family school’s Enchanted Evening auction committee for 3 years before chairing the event in 2008. She was a member, board member, and president of Lantern League, a women’s giving circle in San Jose. Lantern League distributes approximately 100K per year in grants to support organizations specializing in the education of women and children. Cathy is also involved with Cursillo, a Catholic retreat hosting on average 25 women twice a year. She has served on the Cursillo’s Core Team in a variety of positions. She continues to stay connected to the wilderness therapy program both children attended by participating as a moderator on a weekly parent support call. She assisted in developing their parent support network called POWER. They offer support through social media as well as organize an annual gathering for all current and alumni parents. Cathy loves to travel, hike, spend time at the beach and needlework. A highlight was spending a week hiking 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago as fitting closure after her kids were in the wilderness therapy program. She is very excited to continue on this wilderness journey with STLF!
